A season ahead can be like a weather change. You know its coming, and you may even know what to dress like for when it arrives, but what are you doing to make sure you’re ready to switch into the weather change when it arrives? Ensuring you are ready is the necessity of preparation to make the most of every opportunity.

Change can be an inconvenience at the best of times, incredibly ill-timed at the worst of times, and yet change invites us to grow and navigate the opportunities to both actively engage results we’re seeking, and reflect on the progress of results so far obtained.

The only thing certain about life is it’s Gala Invitation to the Ball of Change.

The resourceful thing you can do with change is to bring yourself into a position of recognizing the opportunities – the options – for the different ways you can move forward towards achieving the goals you want to achieve. And what is this thing? Simply being open and aware to the prospect of moments and ‘pivots’ in time for a change to occur.

We all want change to bring the experiences and results we know we will enjoy, and yet sometimes they seem to be fleeting and far, other times, there appears to be many different options all at the same time. The important thing is preparation.

“For in preparation, when the opportunity arrives with many options, the content of your preparation will help you decide which option to select.”

Q: What changes are you aware of are on the horizon between now and early next year you have been looking forward to? How are you preparing for them? Leave your comment below. Subscribe for updates and insights.

The New South Wales Planning and Assessment Commission (NSWPAC) has approved the application, allowing Moolarben to expand its mining operation to the east of the existing mining, with two new underground mines and a new open cut mining pit.

Moolarben’s Stage Two could produce up to 16 million tonnes a year of Run of Mine (ROM) coal for a period of 24 years.

Moolarben Coal employs more than 300 full-time employees and produced 6.4 million tonnes of saleable coal in 2014, up 1 per cent on the previous year.

Mid-Western Regional Council Mayor Des Kennedy said construction of Stage Two will stimulate additional regional production and consumption of $260 million, providing a total benefit to the region of $584 million and directly employing up to 220 construction workers.

In approving the Stage Two project, NSWPAC noted that the “project has significant economic benefits, both in terms of regional employment and royalties to the State of NSW”.

The rise of studio apartment living has both challenged us to move beyond the known boundaries of how we can experience life in the traditional layout of a home or large unit, and invited us to consider how we could re prioritize our categorization of life in how we live it with resources outside our apartment.

When you break this down and apply it into your life, you’re simply engaging a strategy applying to a living environment, and internalize it into the way you would need to think to support making choices to sustain this environment.

“Micro living is simply a representation of how we think about living.”

One of the key change distinctions this is having upon people’s outlook for what they consider possible for their future, is the challenge of maintaining relevance and integration – relationships – to support the value of other things integrated, but not directly associated to achieving the same experience.

The downside is a fragmenting and disjointedness to people’s planning for their future. The upside is the challenge to learn a new way of thinking to at least internalize how things are related, so that distraction from focussing on what you want to achieve is eliminated, and you’re clear on what you want to achieve.

McConnell Dowell has been engaged by Jemena to construct the Northern Gas Pipeline. This pipeline will connect the gas fields in the Northern Territory with customers in the Eastern Gas Market, and run between Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory and Mt Isa in Queensland.

The construction scope for this contract includes the 623km high pressure gas pipeline, two compressor stations and mid-line facilities. Construction of the NGP is expected to commence in early 2017 and be completed by 2018.

McConnell Dowell will utilise the ICN Gateway to identify local suppliers and subcontractors, with proven competence, who are commercially competitive, to participate in the construction of the NGP pipeline.

McConnell Dowell encourages suppliers and subcontractors to register with ICN and to regularly check back to the ICN Gateway page for updated project information. It is expected that the procurement packages associated with the construction works will begin to be listed on the ICN Gateway in the second half of 2016.

YOUR first PET is not your first pet, nor is it your first ‘pet’. Its your first ‘positive empowering thought’ you become aware of as you face the opportunities to achieve what is important to you. And by focussing on your PET, you also create the outlook and belief about what is possible, and therefore include yourself as being the person of possibility to make it happen.

The way we become aware of our first PET when facing a challenge, is to notice how we are framing the challenge, and the limits we choose to notice in our thinking around this. When you do this, then you give yourself permission to explore the contrast of this known limiting thought, the possibility. Now you are beginning…

“Overcoming a challenge begins with contrasting a limiting view with a different possibility.”

As you explore the opportunity presented by looking at a new option in contrast to what you have noticed had initially been a limited outlook, you give yourself the power of creating a new perception. And when the new perception becomes fully explored – by noticing all of the visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic differences to your limiting view – you become your own coach to create an outcome based a new choice.

Q: How is confronting your limiting view or belief about the possibility of something enabling you to create the outcome you want? Leave your comment below. Subscribe for updates and insights.
