A builder which has been picked to extend a high school in Perth’s western suburbs is expected to offer subcontracting opportunities, according to the project’s proponents. Cockram Construction beat eight other tenderers for the contract—valued at $37.4m—to significantly expand facilities at Shenton College.
Shenton College Stage 2 will be located on the western side of the campus between the Shenton Bushland Reserve and the heritage-listed former Lemnos Hospital buildings. Shenton College Principal Chris Hill told Projectory he believed Cockram would be subcontracting some of the building works.
“(The project) is a $50m building for a senior secondary educational facility there is a STEM technology aspect to it, there is a performing arts arena, there are multiple general purposes classrooms, science laboratories, and food science facilities,” he said
