Project UPDATE : St Andrew’s Ipswich Private

A leading engineering contractor has won the primary tender for a $64 million health project in Queensland’s metropolitan area. John Holland Group (JHG) recently secured the head contract for the St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital Redevelopment.

JHG is tasked with refurbishing key areas in the existing hospital, including 90 new beds and the first private hospital Emergency Department within the Ipswich area.

We have learned the deal between JHG and proponent Ramsay Health Care is worth $45m. A key contact confirmed what sub-contracting packages are available.

Project UPDATE : Tipton Gas Expansion Project

An oil and natural gas company are inviting expressions of interest for its planned resource expansion in Queensland’s Surat Basin worth $31 million. Arrow Energy is collecting supplier information for its proposed Tipton Gas Expansion Project, 30km west of Dalby.

A key contact confirmed the first step of the procurement process. “Arrow has announced its decision to proceed with front-end engineering design (FEED) work for this proposed project. This is a design engineering phase, which will be managed through Arrow’s Engineering Master Services Agreement conducted by the Clough Engineering and Integrated Solutions, AMEC Forster Wheeler Australia and China Petroleum Engineering [Joint Venture] (CACJV),” Arrow project community relations officer Rita Hassan communicated.

Project New : Amrun Bauxite Mine

Rio Tinto recently confirmed it had commissioned a variety of sub-contractors and suppliers for its $1.6b Amrun Bauxite Mine, 40km south of Weipa. To date more than $900m in contracts went to Queensland suppliers, representing almost two-thirds of the total $1.38b of all contracts awarded for the project.

At least 509 Queensland businesses are engaged directly and indirectly to supply goods and services to the site. Project UPDATE : Stratford Coal Mine

The Stratford open cut operations extract coal from upper and middle seams within the Gloucester Basin. Stratford Duralie coal is railed to the Port of Newcastle for export. The Stratford operation is located 95km north of Newcastle in the Gloucester Basin. As announced 1 June 2015, the NSW Planning and Assessment Commission approved the Stratford extension application.
